I try to write these reflections on the morning before they come up in the lectionary, so I can publish in the afternoon for paid subscribers.1
Yesterday, however, I was delayed due to chipping a tooth! I had to take Amelia out of school early so we could go back to the Valley, where both our home and dentist reside. Thankfully, Amelia’s helper Doria was available to watch her while I got my tooth fixed up.
That meant I didn’t get to writing my reflections until the evening. The USCCB website (where I get my translations) is on East Coast time, apparently, and they had already advanced to the Tuesday before I got to work. Not thinking, I skipped to the next day.
Which means the post I wrote last night, intending for everyone to read today, was about tomorrow’s readings.
So, sorry about that. To make up for the confusion, here’s a very interesting post by
about Saint John Chrysostom—Yes, that’s the only perk I give paid subscribers, because I think something like this ought to be free for everyone.
